Jean Shepard’s Widower Will Not Be Charged Following Fatal Shooting


Jean Shepard’s husband will not be charged in the fatal stabbing incident that took place at his home. Benny Birchfield shot and killed Travis Sanders after Sanders stabbed Birchfield’s granddaughter. Sanders was shot five times with a .38-caliber handgun. Birchfield has been released from the hospital.

More details are emerging concerning the fatal stabbing involving Jean Shepard’s husband. According to the Tennesseean, Benny Birchfield shot and killed Travis Sanders after Sanders attacked Birchfield’s granddaughter with a knife. Birchfield’s granddaughter was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. Birchfield is still recovering from his injuries.
