It’s been said that the Ryman Auditorium is a place of musical experiences…and fans experienced some “heavenly” musical experiences Thursday night when Chris Stapleton performed to a sold out crowd. With his wife, Morgane Stapleton singing backup and his producer Dave Cobb on guitar in the band, the crowd was “roaring and hollaring” to the music with shouts of “I love You” and tears and applause lasting long after the songs!!
Chris “welcomed his former bluegrass band The SteelDrivers on stage to perform with him…saying, “I called them yesterday and said, ‘Why don’t you come to the Ryman and play with me,’” Stapleton told fans as they cheered. “‘I think people would like it.’ I think I was right.”
“Stapleton also brought opener Maren Morris back to the stage to duet on a cover Tom Petty’s “Free Fallin.’”
Stapleton’s wife Morgane took the lead on “You are My Sunshine,” a song the pair recorded for Cobb’s “Southern Family” compilation album that also features Miranda Lambert. It will be in stores in March.”
With an acoustic song…”Whiskey and You”, and the songs “Tennessee Whiskey” and “Outlaw State of Mind.”…Chris closed down the performance…but it wasn’t quietly…the crowd was more than emotionally involved..singing along, and the admiration of the musical performance definitely was a roaring, clapping crowd…not ready to end the night!
Chris thanked everyone for being there…in his still humble way!… He performs Friday and Saturday to a sold out crowd also.
What else can be said…? I came, I felt the “heavenly” experience, and I would definitely go again..! The feeling lasted long after the experience was over.
