Dierks Bentley’s Somewhere on a Beach Tour played to more than 40,000 on its open 3-show weekend run, his publicist said today.
Bentley started the tour in Holmdel, N.J. on Thursday, following by shows in Pittsburgh on Friday, and Camden, N.J. on Saturday.
Bentley also had the top spot for a second consecutive week on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase radio charts with his 14th career chart-topper “Somewhere On A Beach.” The song is on his forthcoming release, “Black,” (Capitol Records Nashville), out May 27.
“This weekend was the pinnacle of everything we’ve been working on for basically the entire past year,” said Bentley. “We’ve been hunkered down in the studio all winter finishing the record and moved straight into the rehearsal space to build the tour. It all came together this weekend to some of the loudest crowds I’ve ever heard…they definitely set the bar high, but I have a feeling it’s only going to get rowdier from here.”
The tour stops this week in stops this week in Cleveland on May 20, Chicago on May 21 and Detroit on May 22.
