Scotty Moore, a guitarist best known for working with Elvis Presley, has passed awayat the age of 84 after months of deteriorating health.
Moore played on, “That’s All Right” (“Mama”), “Heartbreak Hotel” and “Hound Dog.”
Moore was born in Gadsen, Tennessee. He began playing the guitar when he was eight. He was chosen for Presley’s band by producer Sam Phillips in 1954.
Services are scheduled for Thursday in Humboldt, Tennessee.
