Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line and Sam Hunt were among the songwriters honored by the Country Music Association (CMA) with the Triple Play Award.
Last Wednesday the CMA held its 7th Annual Songwriters’ Luncheon in Nashville. During the luncheon the organization recognized 17 songwriters who wrote three number one songs in a 12 month period.
Hubbard and Kelley earned their Triple Play Award for writing the #1 hit songs: “Hope You Get Lonely Tonight” by Cole Swindell, “Burnin’ It Down” by Jason Aldean and “Sun Daze.”
Hunt was honored for writing “We Are Tonight” recorded by Billy Currington as well as his own #1 songs “Leave The Night On” and “Take Your Time.”
