Jennifer Nettles and Cheap Trick – “I Want You to Want Me”

Jennifer Nettles and Cheap Trick performed “I Want You to Want Me” for an upcoming episode of ‘CMT Crossroads.’ “which kicks off the TV series’ new season of genre-jumping duets on March 24th.”   According to CMT, “Filmed last week in Nashville, the episode finds Nettles returning to the Crossroads stage for a second time, more than a decade after Sugarland teamed up with Bon Jovi for one of the series’ earlier episodes. She’s flying solo for this edition, effectively joining Cheap Trick’s lineup for a one-off set of Nettles tunes and Cheap Trick classics.”  The group takes a stab at “I Want You to Want Me” — which became Cheap Trick’s biggest-selling single after the live version from Cheap Trick at Budokan was released — with Nettles and Robin Zander swapping lines during each verse before sweeping into a beefed-up, harmonized chorus.”

Jennifer Nettles has a release scheduled for her second solo Album May 13th, “Playing With Fire”, under Big Machine Records label.  Cheap Trick signed in December 2015 with Big Machine Records.  Their new album “Bang Zoom Crazy” comes out April 1st along with festivities related to their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
