SMACK’s newest songwriter is Josh Jenkins of Green River Ordinance singing group. “Jenkins wrote or co-wrote every song on his band’s recent Billboard No. 1 Folk and No. 8 Rock album Fifteen and has a cut titled “Whiskeysippi River” on the forthcoming Randy Houser record, Fired Up.” SMACK currently includes Matthew Ramsey, Trevor Rosen, Josh Osborne, and Shane McAnally, just to mention a few. Up for 10 ACM nominations, including Female Vocalist, Video of the Year, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Vocal Group, New Vocal Group and others, SMACK is making quite an impression.
As a band, Green River Ordinance is an American rock band from Fort Worth, Texas that makes music on their own terms with a focus on the things that matter most. Their name refers to Green River Ordinances, laws which prohibit door-to-door sales unless the house’s owner gives permission to do so. They constantly challenge the borders of genre, walking the lines of Country, Rock, Pop, and Folk. This sense of freedom has evolved over the group’s 15-year career, and radiates throughout their forthcoming album, Fifteen, released Jan 22, 2016.
