Taylor Swift First Woman to Win Album of Year Twice

Leave it to Taylor to become the first woman to win The Album of the Year award twice.  The amazing success of her 1989 album propelled her into rare air at the awards show.

After her usual routine of looking shell shocked at finding out she had won, she took the stage to deliver the nights most poignant message.

“I want to thank the fans for the last 10 years and the Recording Academy for giving us this unbelievable honor,” Swift stated after accepting her award “I want to thank all of my collaborators that you see on this stage, mostly I want to thank my co-executive producer Max Martin who has deserved to be up here for 25 years.”

It was at this point Swift took a not so subtle swipe at Kanye West, who has a lyric on his album that states he made her famous.

“As the first woman to win album of the year at the Grammys twice I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame,” she sternly explained, “If you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, some day when you get to where you’re going you’ll look around and know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there and that will be the greatest feeling in the world. Thank you for this moment.”
