Country Band “Backroad Anthem,” Honors Their Lead Singer Craig Strickland

Craig Strickland, died last December after he went missing with a friend on a hunting trip in wintery conditions. It left a void in the life of his band members…who continue to honor him through their music and band “Backroad Anthem”.
“We knew that the best way to honor Craig and his legacy and drive for this band was to continue. It was kind of a ‘How do we get through this?’ And the support from the fans and families and people from all over the world has been a huge help.” as Brandon Robold (bass player) told Rare Country. “Craig’s drive and passion are really what made up his character, and that’s something when he put this band together. His vision — it’s like he could already see the end of the tunnel. That’s probably what he’s always going to be remembered for is his passion and drive.”…explained Eric Dysart (fiddle player).

Says Freeman… “Having found comfort in country singer Cole Swindell’s song, “You Should Be Here,” the guys will perform it on stage in darkness, while a lone spotlight shines on Strickland’s microphone. “We’ve been listening to the song just about every day because it really touched our hearts,”   So… “Backroad Anthem delivered a cover of Cole Swindell’s hit, “You Should Be Here,” the first time they took the stage without Craig.” Words speak loudly…and express the sentiment of loosing a close friend!
