David Allan Coe Sentenced in IRS Case, Ordered to Pay Nearly $1 Million

David Allan Coe has been ordered to pay the IRS more than $980,000 in restitution for obstructing the IRS.

Coe was sentenced Monday in federal court in Cincinnati to three years’ probation. Coe pleaded guilty last year to impeding and obstructing administration of IRS laws.

Court documents say Coe earned income from at least 100 concerts yearly from 2008 through 2013 and either didn’t file individual income tax returns or pay taxes when he did file.
